The brother of the deceased, Gulista Begum, has lodged a complaint against her husband and his fatherand alleged that they were harassing his sister and demanding dowry.
When she failed to meet their demand, she was murdered, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
In another incident, a 35-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at Titerwada village in Shamli district yesterday, police said.
Razia was allegedly being harassed by her husband Abid over some family dispute.
