Woman's body found hanging from tree

The body of a 38-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree in Dharhara village under Naugachhia sub-division of the district today.
The woman was identified as Anju Devi who was the mother of four children living in the village which was famous for its tradition of planting saplings for every female child born there, police said.
"Prima facie it seems to be a case of murder. The woman was killed somewhere else and her body was hanged from the tree to portray it as a case of suicide. Mukesh Singh of the village is a suspect and we are trying to nab him," Naugacchia Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rama Shankar Rai said.

The woman had divorced her first husband and married another person named Fokan Singh. She was last seen on Monday evening while going towards agricultural fields. She did not return home last night, he said.
