Woman shot dead for resisting robbery bid

The incident took place last night when Ranjit Singh and his wife Manu were on their way to Banke Ka Pura village on a motorcycle. When they reached near Malanpur, nearly six armed men intercepted them and thrashed the husband till he was unconscious, they said.

However, when Manu tried to protect her husband, they shot her dead and fled with the jewellery.

Ranjit was taken to a local hospital from where he was referred to Gwalior for further treatment, they said, adding that a search operation has been launched to trace the accused.
