CBI sources said Sarla, posted at Crime Against Women cell of Delhi Police at the office of DCP (East), was nabbed by the agency red-handed while accepting an alleged bribe of Rs 10,000 from a woman who is also named as accused in the case.
The sources said Sarla had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from the woman, who is on bail, for helping her in the case. The deal was finally settled at Rs 10,000.
"It was also learnt that the SI was allegedly threatening the complainant to get her bail cancelled in a criminal case against the latter," he said.
