Officials said that a maximum number of 5,511 complaints were received from Bhopal, followed by women from Indore who made 1,771 complaints.
The number of complaints from Bhopal was more due to high awareness among women about their rights, officials said, adding that they received complaints from remote areas.
The government had launched the women helpline last year to address complaints of atrocities against women in the state.
