Women trained in fibre extraction from banana stem

At least 400 women have so far been trained in rural areas on scientific extraction of natural fibres from banana stem.
The unique project is being carried out by Toc H Institute of Science and Technology in association with Department of Science and Technology and Nansen Environmental Research Centre, India.
"Around 40 training sessions have been conducted since the launch of the project. So far as many as 400 women in Kottayam and Ernakulam districts have received training on the fibre extraction process through this programme," said Dr Suresh K, Associate Professor at TIST who runs the project along with Dr Nandini Menon N, Senior Scientist at Nansen Environmental Research Centre.

NSE launches course in wealth management in Delhi * Leading bourse National Stock Exchange(NSE) has launched a Post-Graduation programme in wealth management for graduates and working professionals in Delhi.
The last date for application is January 22. The programme will commence from January 31, 2015 at NSE office in Delhi on weekend basis, the exchange said in a statement.
The dedicated team from NSE and American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) would provide placement assistance to successful candidates.

Tigerair offers discount on booking through MasterCard * Singapore-based Tigerair today said it will offer a 20 per cent discount in fares on its India-Singapore network to the customers, booking their tickets through the MasterCard.
The return fares under the offer, which comes for a limited period, have been pegged at Rs 9, 299 with a booking window between today and March 15, Tigerair said in a release.
The journey period for a customer availing this offer is between March 5 and October 24, 2015, the airline said.
Tigerair, which is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, operates 36 weekly flights to Singapore from Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trichy airports in the India.
