Work on Villupuram-Dindigul BG line to be over by 2017

: Work on the second Broad Gauge line between Villipuram and Dindigul will be completed by 2017, a senior Railway official said.
Safety Commissioner S K Mittal stated this to reporters after inspecting the 25 km track between Ariyalur and R Masthur. Work in the short section,costing Rs 100 crore had been completed,and special safety inspection was done today.
A train was operated at a speed of 130 km today.
Mittal said a survey for the new track between Thanjavur and Ariyalur was over and the report had been submitted to the Railway ministry.
He inaugurated a building atR Masthur railway station and office building for track machine workers,inspected cement pavement for the third platform in Ariyalur station, a park and other developmentactivities in the station.
He directed the officials to repair the Digital annoucement board system and put it to use.
