Director Vikas Bahl, best known for making children's film 'Chillar Party', says if he ever gets a chance he would love to enter politics and do something better for the country.
Vikas co-produced Rajeev Khandelwal's 'Aamir' and was an associate and creative producer for films like 'Udaan' and 'No One Killed Jessica', respectively. He directed national award winning children's film 'Chillar Party' with Nitesh Tiwari.
"I love to make films. But, if I had to explore things I would like to get into politics and do some good work. I love the way what Arvind Kejriwal is doing being a common man. I think we need to solve the problem of infrastructure in our country," Vikas told PTI.
Vikas is looking forward to his next directorial venture 'Queen' - a romantic-drama featuring Kangana Ranaut in the lead. The film, exploring the other side of life, is about a 24-year-old Punjabi girl (played by Kangana), who comes from a conservative family. When her wedding is cancelled by her fiance, she is shocked and confused, and decides to take her honeymoon by herself, and discover her own identity.
"In real life I travel a lot. Whenever I come back, I am a bit changed person. It is a travel film. It is about an ordinary girl who has no chance but to explore the other side of the world. I feel everyone has the right to explore various things about themselves and not just be bound by duties or anything like that," Vikas said.
The director felt Kangana was perfect for the film as she was familiar in a way to the character of Rani and she has played it quite well on screen.
The film, also starring Lisa Haydon and Rajkummar Rao, releases next month.
Vikas is happy that today women-centric films are being made and accepted by the audience. "Now-a-days audience is ready for all kind of films provided they are good. I would be happy if audience likes our film too," he added.
