The Haryana government would constitute a 'Yog Aayog' to promote yoga in the state, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here today.
With this, Haryana will become the second state after Chhattisgarh in the country to constitute a 'Yog Aayog', he said.
The chief minister was speaking here during the 'Rahgiri' programme, the government's people-administration connect initiative.
Khattar rode a bicycle on the occasion, while urging the people to live a stress-free life and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
"Apart from carrying out development works, the state government also has social responsibility. It is the duty of the government to give the society new direction," he said.
Noting that health problems are increasing and many are suffering from ailments like obesity, heart disease, diabetes and others, Khattar urged people to exercise daily, eat healthy food and live a stress-free life.
"It is important to bring change in an individuals life by giving them happiness which is also a part of development," he said.
The 'Rahgiri' programme today saw participation from a large number of youth and others.
The programme had various sports activities and cultural programmes related to Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
The chief minister said that both the Centre and the state governments have taken a number of initiatives in the health sector.
