Organised jointly by the district administration, city-based coaching institutes and Isha Yoga center, Coimbatore the first session of the workshop on the Allen Career Institutes's premises saw participation of over 1100 teachers and students of the institute.
Over a thousand students and teachers of other coaching institutes in city attended the the second session.
Ravi Kumar Surpur, district collector called upon the students and faculty members to embrace yoga as a routine.
Swami Rijuda, the yoga trainer from Isha Yoga Center, a B Tech graduate himself from NIT, Trichi, said yoga is beneficial for students and acts as a stress-buster.
Thousand of students from across the country rush to Kota every year to prepare for engineering and medical entrance examinations. Several cases of suicide from among the students are reported every year.
