Youth arrested for injuring girl in Rajouri

A youth was arrested for allegedly injuring a girl after she objected to his lewd comments in a bus in frontier district of Rajouri.
"We have arrested the accused who has been identified as Amir Manhas (21) a resident of Jawahar Nagar area in Rajouri," a senior police officer said.
The incident took place on Tuesday when the girl, a class 12 student, was travelling in a bus and she was allegedly slapped by a co-passenger when she objected to his lewd comments.
The girl had objected to his comments following which he hit her hard on the face and it seems that she sustained injuries from the wrist watch the accused was wearing," the officer said.

"The girl had received injuries on her face and she was taken to the hospital where she received six stitches," the officer said.
He said the accused has been arrested under various sections of the RPC.
