Youth attempts rape on minor girl, held

A youth was allegedly beaten by locals and handed over to police on charges of attempting to rape a four-year-old girl here, police said.
Anil (22) was allegedly trying to commit the crime in the bushes near Shri Varni Jain Inter College in Kotwali area here, they said.
Some boys playing there raised an alarm when they saw the youth with the girl following which locals gathered at the spot, police said.
They beat up the youth and handed him over to the police, they said.
The girl's father has lodged an FIR against the accused, police said.
