Sandeep Mishra from Dhaliv Baugh of Nallasopra was called out of his house by his three friends at about 3 AM. All of them went out to steal from houses in the locality, as per the complaint filed in the Valiv police station.
While the four persons were found stealing, the mob got hold of Mishra and lynched him, said an official from Valiv police station.
His body was found this morning and sent for post-mortem, he said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigations are carried out Police Inspector Mahesh Patil, they said.
