Banti (27), son of Babu Ram and a resident of Yamuna Nagar, went to Gobind Ghat alongwith his friends after visiting the Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. He was swept by strong currents while paying obeisance to Paonta Sahib, police said.
His friend Jagirinformed Paonta police that they had come from Yamuna Nagar.
Paonta Sahib DSP Bhishm Thakur said after receiving information, police immediately pressed local divers into service to trace the drowned youth.
The body is yet to be receovered, he said.
