Lokesh Saini hanged himself yesterday, Station House Officer (SHO), Sadar police station Anees Ahamad said.
Based on the complaint by the deceased's father, a case under section 306 (Abetment of suicide) of IPC has been registered against Saini's maternal uncle and some unknown persons for abetting his suicide, he said.
Police said that Saini was upset over not receiving a fair amount for the land which he had recently sold.
Saini's father alleged that his maternal uncle and some members of land mafia were harassing his son which drove him to take the extreme step.
