Mohd Abdul alias Fazal Sheikh had illegally entered the enclosure of a tortoise at Nehru Zoological Park in May last year and took photos of him standing on the animal. He then posted the pictures on Facebook for getting more 'likes', Bahadurpura police station inspector Harish Kaushik said today.
A local daily carried the youth's pictures standing on the tortoise, yesterday, following which the Zoo authorities filed a compliant.
During interrogation, Abdul, who works with an auto garage, said he took the photos standing on the tortoise "just for fun", he said.
Abdul was booked on charge of trespass under relevant IPC section and relevant provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, Kaushik added.
