The accused, Mithun Gouda, a neighbour of the victim, allegedly committed the crime in his house on Friday evening when there was no one in the home, said inspector-in charge, Bhanjanagar police station AK Sahu.
The unemployed youth had allegedly lured the girl for playing in the house, he said.
The incident came to light when the victim narrated the incident after returning home following which her mother disclosed the matter to public at night.
