Basharat Ahmad Guth, a resident of Gool area of Ramban, was hit by the train at Wanabal in the outskirts of the city, resulting in his on-the-spot death, a police spokesman said.
He said the deceased was working as a domestic help in a house in the locality.
"After completion of all medic-legal formalities, the body has been kept in hospital mortuary for handing over to his relatives," the spokesman said.
He said police has started investigation in the matter.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman and a minor girl were killed after being hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) at Vilgam in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
He said both the pedestrians died on spot.
The driver has been arrested and his vehicle seized, the spokesman said, adding, a case has been registered against him.
