The incident occurred when the victim, identified as Arvind Yadav, who was riding a motorbike collided with a car and died on the spot near his native Siriyari village, Jagdishpur Station House Officer Shiv Muni Yadav said.
The car driver fled from the spot and efforts are on to nab him, he said.
He said the victim was the grandson of late Ram Lakhan Yadav, a former gram pradhan of the same village.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection against the driver, Yadav said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
