A 24-year-old youth was stabbed to
death allegedly by a man who suspected him of colluding in the abduction of his sister, in Falawada here.
"The attacker, Govind, along with four other friends intercepted the victim, Ravindra, at Samaspur-Mahalka Road yesterday evening. Govind stabbed Ravindra with a knife due to which he died on the spot," Falawada Station in-charge Ramratan Yadav said.
Govind later surrendered before police with his weapon.
According to police, Govind's sister was abducted on August 25 last year. He suspected that Ravindra had helped the accused, Neeraj, in the act.
A complaint was lodged by the family of the deceased against five people involved in the incident, one of whom was arrested by the police today. The search for remaining three is on, police said.
The incident led to protests by people of the victim's village. They gathered at Mahalka police station last night and demanded action against the guilty.
