Youth sentenced to 10-yr in jail for possessing charas

A local court today sentenced a youth to 10 years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on him for possessing charas.
Sessions Judge (Mandi) Baldev Singh found Gulshan Kumar of Bhadurgarh in Haryana guilty of possessing commercial quantity of contraband and said he would have to further undergo simple imprisonment for six months in case of default of payment of fine.
Kumar was nabbed by police on January 1, 2010 near Aut police station with 1.8 kg of charas in his bag, government counsel said.
