Irfan Farooq Bhat (17) allegedly stabbed Irshad Ahmad Ganaie near Karriappa Park in Baramulla town this morning following an altercation, police said.
According to sources, the two boys were at loggerheads for some time as they were following the same girl, who was their classmate at a tuition centre.
Ganaie was rushed to district hospital Baramulla where he succumbed to injuries, they said.
Bhat has been arrested, the sources added.
