The son of a YSR Congress MLA from Andhra Pradesh has been booked for allegedly assaulting an on duty traffic police inspector here, police said Tuesday.
According to police, the incident happened on Monday evening, when the MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanus son Prasad argued with a traffic constable after the car in which he was travelling was stopped while vehicular movement was being regulated at Madhapur.
When a traffic inspector intervened, he argued with him also and allegedly kicked him, they said.
Following a complaint, a case under relevant IPC sections was registered against Prasad.
The MLA represents Jaggayyapeta Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh.
The YSR Congress is the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh.
