The legal thriller will see Efron playing the role of a Yale Law School graduate who is blackmailed by criminals and forced to work at the world's largest law firm.
The novel was published in 2009 and follows the story of a young graduate who is forced by criminals to spy for them while working at the world's largest law firm.
Efron, 26, will also produce the film via his Ninja's Runnin Wild banner while Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher will produce through Red Wagon Entertainment, said the Hollywood Reporter.
Grisham's other novel to movie adaptations are 'The Firm', 'The Pelican Brief', 'The Client', 'A Time to Kill', 'The Rainmaker' and 'The Runaway'.
