Zinc futures up 0.78 pc on spot demand

Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.78 per cent to Rs 128.45 per kg as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend at spot markets on better demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January up by Re 1, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 128.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 255 lots.
The metal for delivery in February also rose by 90 paise, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 129 per kg in a business volume of six lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions created by participants on improved demand in the spot market and a firming trend overseas supported the rise in zinc futures here.
