The latest Blackberry phone is packed with features

The BlackBerry DTEK60 (Rs 46,990), the Canadian firm’s latest iteration, is very unlike any phone I have used in the past. It sports the familiar BlackBerry interface of Android Marshmallow. the OS is largely bloat-free, but for the usual BlackBerry apps such as contacts and keyboard. A new addition is the DTEK service, which keeps track of what each app is doing and what you want to do about them. Setup involved giving a whole lot of permissions to this app, but it’s all good as in the limited time I spent with the phone, I did get a lot of alerts.
 
With a powerful Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM, I was itching to play a game; Real Racing 3 didn’t disappoint. Multi-tasking is still a dream, especially the way the open app windows are arranged. The DTEK60 reminded me how good Blackberry’s onscreen keyboard is and I just can’t get over the integrated Hub. One can also peek into apps without opening them. The battery lasts through the day if you aren’t taking too many pictures or using the screen a lot.
 
The glass and metal handset looks premium and the fingerprint scanner, a first on a BlackBerry, is placed on the back, just below the protrusion for the 21-megapixel (MP) camera. The camera is quick to launch and the 8MP front camera is good for selfies. It sports a brilliant 5.5-inch AMOLED QHD screen that works well in direct sunlight.
 
The BlackBerry DTEK60, packed to the gills with features, is probably one of the best phones enterprise users can buy.
