The Benelli TNT 600 GT is a sports tourer with immense capability. Despite its short build and compact design, it has the intimidating looks of a superbike.

It stands 1,280mm high and weighs 243 kg. It is 2,150mm long and 840mm wide, has a wheelbase of 1,470mm and a ground clearance of 150mm. Despite its stallion looks, the 600 GT is easy to handle.

And, with its smart panniers (optional) on both sides, it is quite a charmer. Sitting at its heart is an inline four-cylinder, 600cc engine that has the power of 83 stallions. The engine is a high revving one and the meat of the power lies high up in the band, but post 7,500rpm one can really feel the pace setting in as the surge of power forces you to crouch in.

Though blue-blooded street riders may find this late power a bit annoying, I feel it's just about right for a tourer because this power kicks in when you have hit the open highway.

The engine puts out 54.6Nm of torque, which is enough for steep gradients or even for motoring in higher gears at lower revs. The peak torque, however, comes in at 10,500rpm, while the peak power of 83.9bhp comes in at 1,1500rpm, which is in the red line of the power band.

The 600 GT rides on 120/ 70 R17 Pirelli tyres in the front and fat 180/ 55 R17 Pirelli tyres in the rear. The tyres come as stock fitment and provide phenomenal grip on and off the tarmac.

The 600 GT is quick to a 100kmph and just keeps climbing on the speedo until checked. Unfortunately, India does not offer too many roads where the true uninterrupted potential of this bike can be realised.
