Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad yesterday ignored calls for his resignation following governor A R Kidwais sanction to the CBI to prosecute him in the multi-crore fodder scam. Yadav remained obdurate and vowed to fight it out in court even as the TDP, Left parties, SP and BJP pitched in to demand his resignation.
The governor also sanctioned the prosecution of Union minister of state for rural areas C P Verma, Bihar state ministers Bholaram Toofani (animal husbandry) and Vidyasagar Nishad (labour) and former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra. Senior Front leaders are caught in a dilemma. They cannot possibly remain passive, but they do not know how to rein in Laloo. With his belligerence increasing , they fear that a cornered Laloo may split the Janata Dal.
