Virendra Kapoor needs to be commended for his realistic and thought-provoking article Waiting for a messiah (December 28) in which he has rightly remarked that India can be saved from economic and administrative disorder only if committed professionals take on the responsibility of giving the country a new direction.

The question nevertheless remains that where does one get such professionals from since the entire system is corrupt. In such circumstances, the future of the country is bleak indeed and it has been rightly concluded that India is doomed to be the Sick Man of Asia.
