Dull Sentiment Continues

Trading sentiment continued to be lacklustre with indices at major bourses losing ground yesterday.

The BSE Sensex ended at 3735.25, down 34.09 points over the previous close of 3769.34, while the NSE-50 index closed at 1040.50, down 12.85 points over the previous close of 1053.35.

The Century Textiles scrip continued to lose ground and hit the lower end of the circuit filter at Rs 1,647.25 on the BSE. Lakme and Reckitt & Coleman were the major gainers in the A group. Lakme ended the day at Rs 309, a gain of Rs 20 over the previous close, while Reckitt & Coleman gained Rs 15.75 to close at Rs 276.25.

Sugar scrips once again shot into the limelight on the BSE with trading being frozen in Thiru Arooran Sugar at Rs 69.25, Dhampur Sugar at Rs 84 and Shakti Sugar at Rs 19.
