EonGlobal Corporation, a Bellevue-based start-up founded by ex-Microsoft employees, has launched indeon.com an online network for the Indian community. The promoters are Kalpit Jain and Samit Jhaveri both former employees of the software giant in the US.

"We plan to achieve our mission of bringing Indians together worldwide by positioning Indeon as a premier destination for Indians across the globe. Indeon will also act as a platform and be the first community services provider in the country to provide community building blocks as a value added service to the leading dotcom sites in the country," said Samit Jhaveri.

The Indeon team is backed by a strong Microsoft network with its board of directors including Sanjay Partharsarthy, vice president - strategic business development, Microsoft, Vijay Vashee, general manager, S Somasegar, vice president, Satya Nadella, general manager and Pradeep Rathinam, lead marketing manager for Microsoft's bCentral portal. The company has also received $1 million seed capital from them.

"In the US alone, companies focussing on building communities and providing related services have emerged as leading players in the internet market. We are in the process of forming similar alliances to build communities for portals in India and are confident that we will be able to leverage our product portfolio and technical expertise to emerge as the first choice for Indian portals seeking to create online communities," Kalpit Jain said.

An Indeon statement said the dotcom's key differentiators were its technology expertise and intellectual property developed by its in-house technology team.

The applications developed by the team include local language adaptability in eight langauges including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati.

Template based publishing infrastructure enables users to quickly generate and upload content.

The technologies developed by Indeon are based on an open architecture platform that facilitates extensibility and customization and also provides clean integration points for third party modules.
