The net profit of Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC) has risen 16.5 per cent to Rs 197.99 crore in the first three quarters of the current financial year against Rs 169.88 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The HDFC board has declared that the current fiscals third quarter saw the company post a net profit of Rs 70.09 crore as against Rs 61.10 crore the previous year, up 14.71 per cent. Between October and December 1997, the company sanctioned Rs 861.98 crore against Rs 561.84 crore in the corresponding period last year, up 53.42 per cent.
During the period, disbursements went up up to Rs 579.41 cr against Rs 477.43 cr, up 21.36 per cent.
Loans sanctioned during the first nine months of the current fiscal have aggregated Rs 2,282.29 crore, up 28 per cent from the corresponding period last year. Loans disbursed amounted to Rs 1,711.46 crore, up 24 per cent.
