Get ready for an executive education certificate programme from management institutes of BRIC nations.
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will shortly launch a programme for senior management executives from India. Its partner institutes from Brazil, Russia and China will get participants from their respective countries.
The idea, according to IIM-A, has been floated by Fundacao Dom Cabral (FDC), a premier business school in Brazil. The programme will see institutes from each country bringing equal number of participants.
To be launched in September-October 2012, IIM-A is soon set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the other three institutes. What's more, the Indian premier B-school may also get executives from Bangladesh and Nepal for the four country certificate programme.
"The programme will be for senior executives from companies where they will be spending time together for every week in a different location. Executives will be taught by faculty members at their respective B-schools to know the challenges and opportunities of the business," said a professor from IIM-A.
The programme may be for a duration of 20 days and each country will bring in 10 participants to make the class size 40. The fee could range anywhere between Rs 13,00,000 and Rs 15,00,000. This however, will be in addition to the travel cost which will be borne by the executives.
"The idea is not to make it a huge class but make the interaction between participants intensive. IIM-A will be focussing only on getting students," the professor added regarding the institute's role in the programme.
Atanu Ghosh, dean, alumni and external relationships at IIM-A declined to comment on the initiative before next week.
