Samvat 2056 kicked off with a bull rally at the special moorat session on Sunday, pushing the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex higher by more than a per cent and sending select software stocks even higher.
The Sensex closed the session at 4651.17, a rise of 52.72 points (1.14 per cent) over its previous close of 4598.45 points.
The S&P CNX Nifty on the National Stock exchange barely moved, registering a marginal gain of less than one point to close virtually unchanged at 1365.3 points.
