Between work deadlines and the pressures of an organised life, the last thing I want to do on my day off is to buy groceries, call a plumber, or basically do all those tasks that I have been putting off for months. What if I had a personal assistant to handle all these chores? That's when I came across DoneThing on the Google Play Store.

This app, which communicates via chat, can help hire carpenters, electricians, locksmiths and even get a cake delivered at your doorstep. DoneThing also provides services through WhatsApp, call and SMS.

I liked the clutter-free page listing out the four basic categories - Shopper, Pick & Drop, Tasks and Find Help.

The Pick & Drop category is unique - this service picks up and delivers any heavy item the user wants.

Services facilitates bill payments, depositing cheques, printing and scanning documents, repair, courier services and government ID or notary. Under Find Help are categories such as hobbies, home services, professional services and businesses. It helped me pick a yoga teacher.

DoneThing currently offers its service in Delhi-NCR but plans to expand to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh soon.
