PM Modi and Mangalyaan indulge in Twitter banter

A day after India’s stellar achievement of successfully sending an orbiter to Mars in its maiden attempt, Twitter is still abuzz with excitement regarding ISRO's success. Quirky Tweets form the official account of the Mars Orbiter have been an instant hit with the masses.

 

The Twitter account immediately became a runaway hit, gaining over 55,000 followers within hours. In a tone that was at once funny & conversational the account's tweets have already been re-tweeted nearly 15,000 times. 

Right after the news broke out, the official account of the Mars orbiter tweeted the following:

Its tweet greeting NASA’s Mars rover was the most re-tweeted tweet yesterday.

 

A day after entering the orbit, Mangalyaan got down right to business by sending in latest images of the surface of the planet.

PM Narendra Modi was quick to reply to the orbiter :

 

Mangalyaan is now set to conduct experiments to study the atmosphere, mineralogy and presence of methane in the Martian orbit along with NASA's MAVEN.
