Rs 12,000 Crore For Modernisation Of Sail

Centre has earmarked Rs 12,000 crore for modernisation and expansion of plants of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) to help boost production of quality steel in the country during the ninth plan period, according to the union minister for steel, Naveen Patnaik. Talking to reporters here last evening, the minister said a large chunk of the amount would be spent on modernisation and expansion of the Bokaro Steel Ltd and Bhilai Steel Plant.
