Rs 15,541 Crore Outlay For Delhi In Ninth Plan

Delhi will have an outlay of Rs 15,541 crore for the ninth plan, which is more than double the size of the eighth plan outlay.

The plan outlay has been finalised at a meeting between Madhu Dandavate, the deputy chairman of Planning Commission, and Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma here yesterday.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, the Chief Minister said the Planning Commission has approved the outlay of Rs 15,541 crore at constant prices for the ninth plan as against an outlay of Rs 6,853 crore approved for the eighth plan, showing an increase of 127 per cent.

Stating that the performance of the Delhi government during the eighth plan came in for commendation from the Planning Commission, he said as against the eighth plan outlay of Rs 4,500 crore, anticipated realisation of resources was Rs 4,837 crore, which was 107 per cent of plan outlay. The anticipated realisation in Delhi governments own resources was 118 per cent while the Central assistance was 86 per cent of the plan projection, he said.
