Finnish passenger ferry operator Silja Oy Ab said it expected earnings for the current year to reach or exceed break-even.
The group's favourable trend is expected to continue and it is estimated that earnings for 1997 should be able to attain or exceed the break-even level, Silja said.
Silja said the group's positive operating cash flow would strengthen. For its Baltic Sea passenger ferry arm Silja Line, it said the earnings improvement was expected to continue.
