Higher volumes and better realisation saw Kutch-based Welspun Global Brands Ltd. (WGBL)'s standalone net profit rise by six per cent for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to corresponding period last year. As against Rs 7.86 crore for first quarter of fiscal 2011-12, the home textiles player registered a standalone net profit of Rs 8.33 crore in Q1 of current fiscal.
Part of the $3.5 billion Welspun Group, WGBL recorded a 68 per cent increase in its standalone revenue at Rs 800.83 crore for quarter ended June 30, 2012, up against Rs 474.86 crore previous year. On the consolidated basis, the home textiles and retail company posted a whopping 1515 per cent rise in Q1 PAT in FY '13 at Rs 10.5 crore as against Rs 0.65 crore for Q1 FY '12. WGBL's revenue also rose by 45 per cent in the same period at Rs 910 crore as against Rs 626 crore previous year.
