Oppo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer and a subsidiary of BKK electronics, is gearing up to bring the Oppo R-series smartphone to India. The company posted a tweet on its official Twitter channel, confirming that the R-series is coming up soon. Though the company has not officially confirmed the exact model that will be making its way to India, it is expected that the company would launch its flagship Oppo R17 Pro. The R17 Pro would be the second flagship smartphone to launch in India, first was the Oppo Find X, which was launched in the country earlier this year.

Oppo R17 Pro specifications and features

The R17 is a premium smartphone in Oppo’s R-series. It sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen of fullHD+ resolution, covered under Gorilla Glass 6. The screen boasts a waterdrop notch, accommodating the front camera. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 system-on-chip (SoC), paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 3,700 mAh battery and supports superVOOC flash charge technology, which charges the battery from zero to 40 per cent in 10 minutes, according to the company’s claim.

In terms of imaging, the Oppo R17 Pro has a dual camera module on the back, paired with a time-of-flight (TOF) 3D sensor. The dual camera module features a 12-megapixel variable aperture lens of f/1.5 and f/2.4. It supports optical image stabilisation and dual pixel phase detection autofocus technology. The secondary lens has a 20MP AF sensor of f/2.6 aperture. On the front, there is a 25MP ultra-wide-angle lens of f/2.0 aperture.
