Telecom major Bharti Airtel is planning to invest around Rs 7.5 crore for setting up Airtel Service Centres (ASCs) in villages. A one-stop solution for all mobile related information and service needs of Airtel customers, ASC will be located in small villages of Gujarat with populations of 3,000 to 10,000.
Shivan Bhargava, chief operating officer, mobile services - Gujarat circle, Bharti Airtel, said, “So far we have created 1,300 ASCs in different villages of Gujarat and plan to add 1,200 more in the next few months. Each of these 2,500 ASCs will carry an investment of around Rs 30,000. The ASCs have been designed to respond to evolving customer expectations, especially in the rural areas. We would be training and helping retail shop owners in the rural areas for running these centres.”
