State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has achieved a subscriber base of over 20 lakh for its mobile services in the Orissa circle.
BSNL which has already added five lakh mobile subscribers in the state in 2009-10 till the end of December aims to add an additional four lakh subscribers by the end of the current fiscal.
U S Panda, general manager (operations), BSNL said, “BSNL has now more than 20 lakh mobile subscribers in Orissa and we aim to add four lakh more subscribers by the end of this fiscal.” On an average, BSNL is adding around 90,000 mobile subscribers in the state every month.
Meanwhile, the state owned telecom major has recently rolled out the pre-paid broadband service in Orissa with easy recharge options. The pre-paid broadband service will help boost new landline connections, said Panda. The sporting event is set to witness the participation of 250 BSNL employees of 12 telecom circles in the country.
