 "Google says it never copied iPhone features for Android")
A Google executive has reportedly said that Google engineers have never copied Apple's iPhone features for use in Android.
The executive made the statement during testimony in the Apple v. Samsung patent-infringement trial.
Hiroshi Lockheimer, Google vice president of Android, walked the jury through early development of Android and said engineers actually tried to make software that was very different from Apple's iOS mobile operating system, Cnet reported.
Lockheimer said that the company liked to have its own identity and ideas, adding that it was very passionate about what it was doing, and it was important that it had its own ideas.
Meanwhile, Lockheimer was the first witness Samsung called in its defense against Apple, the report added.
