The HTC Desire 728 is sleek and in spite of having a 5.5-inch screen, it enables one-handed usage. It has a matte-back finish which gives it the appearance of a premium phone.

The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop integrated with HTC Sense. The UI is smooth and is hassle-free. Under the hood, it houses a 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor and 2 GB of RAM, which makes it fall short on performance. I faced an ample amount of lag while playing Order and Chaos, so much so that at certain points I had to wait for a minute or two just to get my character from point A to B.

I tested the phone's audio with Led Zepellin's Kashmir and was quite pleased with the output. I took it up a notch and decided to play some Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, but the phone didn't buckle and gave me quite good results.

Next, I tried out its cameras - a 13-megapixel(MP) primary and a 5MP secondary one. The pictures are sharp with balanced colours, albeit a bit grainy.

The phone comes with a 2,800 mAh battery and lasts more than half a day on moderate usage.

It is priced at Rs 17,990, which makes it fall intothe Asus Zenfone 2's segment. But it comes nowhere near the latter. If performance is what you seek, this phone is not for you.
