Design
The 10.1-inch Laptab looks sleek and is not very heavy at about 1.1 kg. The keyboard has a fixed-hinge mechanism that allows the tablet to be attached and propped up. This might not be appreciated by those who like to place the laptop on their laps while lying down. However, you will not face any difficulty while working on the desk. The charcoal-grey finish, metallic exterior and black strips ensure a rich look for the Laptab.
Performance
The Laptab take only one SIM and runs on the Windows 8.1 with Bing. The IPS display, with a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels, offers a decent visual experience. However, you might not enjoy working on it outdoors as the screen reflects light.
The 1.33GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor aided with 2GB of RAM does not disappoint in handling most tasks. Graphics are worth the money. An internal storage of 32GB is not great but it can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card.
We were impressed by the 7,700mAh battery that managed to last up to six hours on normal usage. The Laptab comes with a two-megapixel (MP) rear camera and a 2MP front one. Their performance was nothing to write home about. It's good enough for video calls but do not expect great imagery with the rear camera.
The dual speakers placed on either sides on the rear panel work fine if you use them in a small, closed environment.
Verdict
At Rs 14,999, the Laptab is not a bad two-in-one device.
