Non-voice services to drive tele-market

The non-voice services is likely outdo the voice services in the telecom sector in the next four to five years and become the key driver of business for the telecom operators.

“The non-voice services likely to play a dominant role in the telecom sector in the next four to five years. These services will generate about 30 to 40 per business for the telecom operators through wider usage of internet, M Commerce, M-Health and M-Education,” said Deepak Gulati , Executive President, Mobility Business Division, Tata Teleservices Limited. Gulati was in Bhubaneswar to discuss the strategies for Orissa region in the new financial year. Living up to the tag of an innovator and the first to introduce the concept of Pay Per Use, the brand Tata DOCOMO charges the customer on a per-second pulse leading to saving of up to 23 per cent of mobile bills, he added.

The Tata Teleservices official pointed out that every two out of every three dongle users in the state is a Tata Photon customer. Presently the broadband services are available in thirteen towns of the state. It includes Rourkela, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul , Dhenkanal, Jeypur, Raygada, Bargarh and Belpahad and the company is planning to add four more towns soon, namely Pradaip, Jajpur Road, Bolangir and Bhadrak.
