Not up to the mark

The UEFA Euro 2016 add-on doesn't really 'add' much to the PES 2016 experience

Konami has re-released Pro Evolution Soccer (or PES) 2016 with the UEFA Euro 2016 DLC. The championship is just around the corner and maybe Konami would like to cash in on that.

The thing I like most about PES is how you can feel control of the ball so easily. For someone who's new to football games, it would take just few minutes to end up dribbling like Cristiano Ronaldo.

That said, during certain moments, the game felt too unrealistic especially when I scored a goal that would be almost impossible if I were playing it in real life.

But there is some bad news for football fans - PES doesn't have licences for all the teams. So you won't get the full experience of an UEFA Euro championship and might not see the footballers you support.

The UEFA add-on has only two modes - Exhibition and Cup - which is a downer. On top of that only one stadium, Stade de France, is available to play. The Exhibition mode lets you play international friendly games whereas you can tweak around a bit in the Cup mode.

I got a PlayStation 4 copy for my review. While the DualShock controller is a great advantage, I will lose out to PC gamers over mods provided by the PES community. These mods include complete squads with kits and detailed texture packs. So if you want a fuller UEFA Euro experience, a PC copy would be a better option.

PES 2016 was available sometime around October last year and the added DLC doesn't really offer anything new. Apart from the fact that it has released just weeks ahead of the championship, I don't think it would find many takers. More so, because FIFA 16 not only offers complete squads but also more mods and locales.
