Panasonic P11: Average joe

The dual-SIM phone's capacitive touch screen responds a bit slowly

Panasonic's latest is the middle-of-the-range P11. Sleek, rounded edges and a little heavy, it comes with three back panels; two have matte finish. The dual-SIM phone's capacitive touch screen responds a bit slowly. The five-inch HD IPS display is sharp. The volume rocker is on the top left and the power/sleep button on the right. The 3.5-mm jack and charger port are on the top. The phone can take a USB charger. On the bottom are the settings, home and back buttons.

There is a shortcut menu at the bottom. The quick launcher does not have enough toggle switches - for most tasks, such as changing between sound profiles and SIM settings, you have to keep going to the settings menu. The accelerometer works with a lag. P11 runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory make multitasking, car racing and football games a good experience. P11 has a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB.

Switching between the two SIM cards is a hassle. I had to return to settings again and again, trying to switch data usage.

The phone comes mostly with Google apps and a few news apps. It has two camera apps that help you scan images and create a virtual business card with photos.

The headphone's sound is loud and good but the phone's is okay. The battery starts asking for a recharge after just eight-10 hours of browsing.
