The Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) on Friday restrained Etisalat DB from transferring its equipment lying with Anil Ambani group company RInfra, which has claimed dues of Rs 1,270 crore from the operator.

In an interim order on RInfra’s plea, the tribunal held that Etisalat DB was “restrained from disturbing the possession” of its transmission equipment installed on the towers of the ADAG group firm. The tribunal did not agree with the submissions of Etisalat DB that it should not pass any order, as the matter related to the recovery was pending before various forums.

CBI on Essar, Loop
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday concluded its arguments in a Delhi court for framing charges against the promoters of Essar Group and Loop Telecom for allegedly deliberately and consciously violating the unified access services licences guidelines for 2G spectrum.

CEOs to meet Sibal
Chief executives of telecom companies are likely to meet minister Kapil Sibal on Monday on high base price fixed for spectrum auction. They had met him on Wednesday.

They had told him that implementation of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s recommendations would lead to doubling of mobile telephony charges. They’d promised to give proof of that. The telecom regulator says the base price it has recommended would lead to only a marginal 1.5-2 paise increase in mobile call rates.
